People
Getting information into the system and building a complete point in time picture of the enquiry is important to both quickly process enquiries and to also build an enquirer history for each patient that the Poisons Information Service is contacted about. The People module is specifically designed to cut down on repeated data entry of known information and to help to quickly progress enquiries in real time.
EZ-PID supports many different types of people, including enquirers, patients, general contacts and more. These people data records are then used in the enquiries data entry window to populate numerous fields, saving the responder time and providing them with valuable known information.
For general contacts, the system enables the responder to capture information such as the person’s name, their contact details and to define what type of person they are. This basic contact information is then expanded for people with a Person Type of ‘Patient’.
This includes physical characteristics and other medical information which is often extremely useful to responders when giving out advice to enquirers. For repeat patients, much of this information pulls straight into the enquiry data entry window, giving the responder that information in a timely and consistent manner.
